The pioneer model to the high bright series is the 12.1(12) Inch High Bright Resistive Touch Screen Open Frame Monitor. This 4:3 aspect ratio sunlight readable touch screen monitor is available in two model types. First, there is the FOP1200HB-RTS-S, which comes with an RS232 serial touch interface and the second model is the FOP1200HB-RTS-U, which comes with a USB touch interface.

How bright is the sunlight readable monitor? The FOP1200HB-RTS-S is rated at 1,600 nits brightness, so it is more than sufficient to fight the elements of the sun, when used in an outdoor application.

Will I have to worry about a design change if there is an LCD panel revision? Take solace in iTechLCD’s open frame monitor design of the enclosure and chassis. Whether there is an LCD panel revision or not, Caltron ensures that the mechanical dimensions of the chassis will remain consistent throughout the lifetime of the monitor. Once the 12.1” high bright touch screen monitor gets designed into an enclosure, designers will never have to worry about any changes in the future.

A few applications that the high bright touch monitor can be used in would be applications such as outdoor Kiosks, instrumentation control displays, control panels or digital signage displays.
