iTechLCD’s 8(8.4) Inch Industrial 4:3 Aspect Ratio 5-Wire Resistive LED Backlit LCD Open Frame Touch Screen Monitor comes in two model types. The FOP8400-RTS-S/U has RS232 Serial touch screen open frame interface, the FOP8400-RTS-S/UU has USB touch screen open frame interface. Both are perfect for industrial control panels or keypad use.

One of the most difficult questions that people ask themselves or have to consider is generally, "is this the right monitor for me? Does it have the required brightess for my application? Why do I need an open frame touch screen monitor?  Why can't I just use a consumer grade touch screen?  There are definitely valid answers to all of those questions.  An 8.4" touch screen monitor is more rare and would be much more difficult to find in a consumer grade level.  LED backlit monitors have a fairly high brightness rating that is perfect for areas with high ambient lighting.  Using an open frame touch screen monitor makes it much easier to integrate into any application or solution.  Lastly, consumer grade touch screens are less susceptible to harsh environment changes and are usually redesigned everytime there is an LCD panel revision, making it much more difficult to replace failing units in the future.

The monitor can be used in both indoor and outdoor environments and the miniscule open frame form factor is a space saver and gives your application designer freedom to build all types of enclosure models. The FOP8400-RTS-S/U, 8" LED LCD resistive touchscreen open frame monitor is one of iTechLCD's newest products and can be used in projects such as instrumentation panels, kiosks and signage displays.
